Development & Communications Coordinator (Part-Time)

At Hope for the Future Visitation Center, our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming, home-like setting where children in foster care engage in court-ordered, supervised visitations and stay connected with their families. Through organized visits, we provide spaces for family time to build trust and improve relationships, aiming for better futures. POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a mission-driven Development & Communications Coordinator to help grow our impact through donor engagement, grant development, public outreach, and event support. This role blends thoughtful research, heartfelt storytelling, and creative design to honor those who serve and care for children in foster care. The Coordinator will also assist in preparing speaking engagements, organizing facility tours, and supporting presentations at community events that elevate HFTF’s mission and deepen public understanding of our work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and track grant opportunities aligned with HFTF’s mission

  • Assist in drafting grant narratives and compiling required documentation

  • Assist in drafting personalized thank-you letters and maintain a gratitude calendar

  • Create flyers, graphics, and event materials that reflect our inclusive, trauma-informed spirit

  • Assist with writing and scheduling social media content that uplifts our mission and milestones

  • Support storytelling efforts that highlight staff, families, and community impact

  • Assist with preparing speaking engagements, organizing tours, and supporting presentations at events

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure messaging is clear, affirming, and unified

  • Participate in staff celebrations, creative brainstorming sessions, and outreach campaigns

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong writing and editing skills with a heart for storytelling

  • Detail-oriented and organized, especially with deadlines and documentation

  • Creative eye for design and inclusive messaging

  • Comfortable supporting public speaking, event logistics, and community engagement

  • Passion for child welfare, restoration, and relational stewardship
