OUR MISSION

We provide a safe, welcoming, home-like setting where children in foster care engage in court-ordered,

supervised visitations and stay connected with their families.

Who We Are

While working in the juvenile division of Oklahoma County District Court, Clotiel Howard often heard stories of children placed in foster care due to abuse and/or neglect. These children were further traumatized by separation from their parents and loss of vital family connections. On one occasion, Ms. Howard asked a foster child what she wished for her future. Tragically, the girl said, "I have no future." Ms. Howard at once responded, "There is always hope for your future." It was then that Ms. Howard's dream was born. She would create a protected, home-like setting where children in foster care due to child abuse and/or neglect could have court-ordered supervised visits with their families. In August 2016, Ms. Howard's dream for a supervised visitation center was realized and the facility opened.

Clotiel Howard, Executive Director of Hope for the Future, hosted an Appreciation Dinner for Oklahoma Department of Human Services’ child welfare professionals. The invitation-only event took place at Poe Bouyz House, 3500 N I-35 Service Rd, Oklahoma City, on October 29, 2022. Local businesses and individual donors provided prizes and gifts. Food was prepared by Sheek Kitchen and Poe Bouyz House, as well as family and friends. Past and current interns kindly served the guests. As well, board members were in attendance. This celebration was a wonderful opportunity for child welfare professionals to relax and enjoy a meal together. Turnout was fabulous for the second year in a row. The Appreciation Dinner will be one of Hope for the Future’s annual events.

Volunteering

It's not just money that makes the difference in the lives of foster children. There are nearly half a million foster care in the system, and we not only aim to provide the bare necessities for survival, but to ensure children can enjoy the things that make life joyous and fulfilling.

With Hope for the Future, you can help give to children in need by volunteering your time and services in a number of ways. We regularly hold events and fundraisers and are always looking for additional hands. Reach out today to learn more about how you can make a difference.

What People Are Saying

“Kids really loved it and really want to go back. Mom was so pleased to fix a meal and serve her children homemade food.”

- Child Welfare Specialist

"I like this place better than McDonald's! Can we come back here next week? Can we live here with you? Ms. Clotiel, this is a neat place. I like it!.”

- Child

“Thank you for this home-like feel. I have really enjoyed my visits here. I wish I would have had a place like this 9 months ago when my kids was just taken. We can laugh and get down on floor and play together. I can let my baby crawl on the floor. It is so clean and the people here are very friendly. Ms. Clotiel is a blessing! Thank you Ms. Clotiel and staff. I want all my visits at this place. Feels better than home! Love it!”
