Volunteer Coordinator

At Hope for the Future Visitation Center, our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming, home-like setting where children in foster care engage in court-ordered, supervised visitations and stay connected with their families. Through organized visits, we provide spaces for family time to build trust and improve relationships, aiming for better futures. Rooted in faith and driven by hope, we strive to help transform lives by working directly with families in need, to foster trust, healing, and stronger connections, empowering them on their path toward reunification and a shared future.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our Volunteer Coordinator's primary goal is to recruit and manage a team of dependable, talented individuals, ensuring they are effectively placed to support our mission and drive the success of our organization.
Success in this role will require strong leadership skills. You must be able to identify talent, inspire and motivate others, and create a positive work environment. Exceptional organizational abilities and effective communication with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences are essential to success in this role.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media, etc.)
Collect information on availabilities and skills.
Arrange for appropriate training when needed.
Produce schedules for everyday activities.
Assign responsibilities to the right people for special events.
Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions.
Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed.
Distribute information for upcoming needs and events.
Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments.
Ensure the purpose of the organization and its actions are clearly communicated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's in business administration, human resources, social studies, or a relevant field will be appreciated.
Ability to give full attention to what others say, motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, and identify the best volunteers to serve.
Experience in volunteering locally and/or internationally
Experience in recruiting through various channels
Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (knowledge of Excel)
Able to communicate effectively with diverse people.
Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
A pleasant, outgoing personality
Exceptional communication and listening skills to understand a manager's needs and match the best volunteer.
